Portugal Masters: Paul Dunne

Portugal Masters: Paul Dunne

His tour card should be secure after a T25 at the Dunhill Links and Oceanico Victoria one of the few European Tour venues he played last year.

A T25 finish at the Dunhill Links earned Paul Dunne his biggest cheque of the season and although it didn’t win us any money it should ensure the Irishman his playing rights for next season.

Sat 102nd in the Race to Dubai he is unlikely to be overtaken and with some of the pressure released we could see an improvement in his golf. The 23-year-old has enjoyed a strong finish to the season with four top-25 finishes in his last seven starts and can go even higher.

Last year he finished T68 on only his third professional start and the experience should mean he is better prepared second time around on the Oceanico Victoria course.

Dunne’s driving accuracy is still an issue but David Lynn and Alvaro Quiros both won despite spraying it off the tee.
