Portugal Masters Tips: Chris Wood
Has broken 70 in his last six competitive rounds and has three top-26 finishes at Vilamoura.
To win the Portugal Masters you need to drive the ball straight and putt well, with a winning score usually around the 20-under mark birdies are a must.
Thankfully, this test is ideally suited to Chris Wood. The Bristolian isn’t particularly long but he’s straight and putts well.
After a mid-season lull he seems to have found form again with top-10 finishes at the Dunhill Links and British Masters. In fact his last six competitive rounds have been 65-65-69-69-69-67, which augers well for this week.
Wood has three top-26 finishes in four starts at Vilamoura and looks capable of recording his second win of the campaign at 20/1 (William Hill).
