Keegan Bradley v Rory McIlroy Tip

The rookie American has probably been the best player on either team through Friday and Saturday. Yet still the bookies see him as an underdog.

To make Keegan Bradley an 8/5 shot (StanJames) in a head-to-head battle after his exploits at Medinah so far is inexplicable. He may be playing Rory McIlroy in the Sunday singles, but it’s the 26-year-old from Vermont who has looked like the best player in the world since Friday.

The 2011 USPGA champion has won 3 out of three 3 matches alongside a rejuvenated Phil Mickelson. But however well the senior man has played, Bradley has been the leading light. And they haven’t just been winning, it’s been convincing.

First up they took the unbeaten record of Donald and Garcia and inflicted a 4&3 defeat on them. They had to work a little harder in a 2&1 success over McIlroy and McDowell on Friday afternoon before utterly destroying Westwood/Donald 7&6 on Saturday.

Now Bradley will be relishing the chance to beat the young Irishman again who has had mixed fortunes. McIlroy (W2 L2) has looked slightly weary at times and will be one of only two men to play all five matches. In truth, he was carried over the line by Poulter on Saturday evening, and only a dramatic reversal in form will see the favourite triumph in this one.
