DP World Tour Championship Tips: Marc Warren

Was joint leader after two rounds last year and arrives in good form after a T7 in Turkey.

Marc Warren isn’t a prolific winner, his last tour victory came in 2007, but at a triple-figure price he is worth an each-way investment.

In financial terms the 32-year-old has enjoyed the best year of his career, earning over €900,000 but he can’t quite get over the winning line. He blew a good position in the Open de Espana back in April and then lost in a playoff in the PGA Championship at Wentworth.

Despite two near misses, he can mix it at the top level and he looked in good form in Turkey last week when finishing T7.

In Dubai last year, Warren was the half-way leader with Rory McIlory and although he slipped back over the weekend to finish T26 it showed he can handle the Earth Course.

Twelve months down the line, he is a better player and overpriced at 125/1 (Stan James). Back him each-way and get ¼ odds for a top-5 finish.
