China Open Tips: Lucas Bjerregaard

China Open Tips: Lucas Bjerregaard

Record in China/HK is still good despite last week’s missed cut and has always been a slightly streaky player.

The European Tour stays in China this week for the China Open and after going close with Joost Luiten we don’t need to change tact.

The Dutch golfer is considerably shorter give his exploits but our two failures at the Shenzhen International are worth another go. Topwin Golf & CC hosts for the first time but we can forgo course form and looks at results in China more generally.

Lucas Bjerregaard’s results in China and Honk Kong read 24-5-15-14-2-3-MC and I’m inclined to consider his failure at Genzon GC as a bad day at the office.

The Danish golfer was going ok on Thursday until he dropped four shots in his final four holes and that seemed to knock the stuffing out of him.

Coming on the back of his travails at Valderrama there is a slight concern he’s lost form but he’s always been a streaky player. Last season he missed 15/33 cuts but still enjoyed a career year and finished 34th on the money list.

His price has drifted out to an attractive 70/1 (Betfred) and that makes him a good each-way play.
