China Open Tips: Francesco Molinari
Biggest win of his career came in China and has started to hit form in recent weeks.
The Genzon Golf Club hosts the Volvo China Open for the first time, meaning there is no course form to rely upon. Instead, I’m focussing on players with good records in the Far East.
Last week we saw Lee Westwood win for the seventh time on the Asian Tour and some Europeans seem to thrive in this part of the world.
The biggest win of Francesco Molinari’s career came in China at the 2010 WGC-HSBC Champions and although this is a differenct venue, conditions will be similar.
The 31-year-old has shown glimmers of form in recent weeks. He started well at Augusta and finished well in Malaysia but hasn’t been able to string four rounds together - yet.
The Italian rarely misses a cut and having finished T6 in the 2012 China Open we don’t need much of an improvement to land the each-way part of our bet at 25/1 (Betfred).
