Chile Classic Trends

Prince of Wales Country Club

The Web.com Tour stays in South America for its second event of the season. We look at the trends of past winners.

The Prince of Wales Country Club hosts the Chile Classic for the third year and during that time it has been a relative pushover.

The par-72 course measures a modest 6,711 yards and it plays even shorter because of the altitude. Three players finished 20-under or better last year, therefore making birdies is paramount.

Because there have only been two editions of the Chile Classic we have used the top-2 players in 2012 and 2013 to form our trends.

Top-60 on tour for birdie average
It is a simple equation; to win you have to make birdies. Kevin Kisner made 24 birdies and an eagle on the way to victory last year; Paul Halley II made 26 birdies when winning in 2012.

Top-60 on tour for actual scoring
Following on from the first trend, you need to go low to win in Chile. That means making birdies but also keeping bogeys off the card.

Players that fit both trends:

Andrew D Putnam 40/1 Stan James
Alexandre Rocha 50/1 Bet365
Hunter Haas 55/1 Bet365
Peter Tomasulo 66/1 Bet365
Mathew Goggin 66/1 Coral
Whee Kim 66/1 Bet365
Ryan Spears 100/1 Bet365
Franklin Corpening 110/1 Bet365
Scott Dunlap 140/1 Bet365
Camilo Benedetti 150/1 Paddy Power
Michael Connell 200/1 Paddy Power
Adam Crawford 200/1 Bet365
Kelly Kraft 200/1 Bet365
Randall Hutchison 250/1 Paddy Power
