Byron Nelson Golf Tips: Chris Kirk

Chris Kirk

A good up and coming US golfer; his sometimes erratic driving could go unpunished at this course.

Our third selection at the Byron Nelson is another player making his debut at the tournament, Chris Kirk. In his first full season on tour, the Nationwide graduate has made an excellent transition. A second place at the Shell Houston Open should be enough to keep his card. However, it took him a while to get over that defeat as he went on a run of three consecutive missed cuts. Nevertheless, a T16 at Colonial last week showed that he was back.

Another long hitter, this young American should be suited to TPC Four Seasons. He ranks 44th on tour for driving distance and although wayward, he shouldn’t be heavily penalised. Fellow wild hitters like Wetterich and Sabbatini have both thrived at the Byron Nelson. One of the ‘new breed’ of US golfers making progress on tour, take the 110/1 before he hits the headlines.
