Vettel Sails Away In Valencia

Vettel wins again

The reigning world champion stretched his lead to 77 points as he dominated the Valencia Street Circuit.

It was a first for Formula 1 at Valencia as all 24 starters finished the race, a record number for a Grand Prix. That was as exciting as it got. Sebastian Vettel led from start to finish to record his sixth win of the season. The German is now 77 points ahead of Mark Webber and Jenson Button in the championship and a best price 1/10 to retain his title.

Lewis Hamilton collected points in fourth but was a long way off the pace. He is 20/1 second favourite to win the championship. It now looks like a battle for second place, with the ‘without Vettel’ market the most exciting from a betting perspective.

If we take out Vettel, these are the current standings and their respective prices:

Button 109 points: 3/1
Webber 109 points: 5/2
Hamilton 97 points: 11/4
Alonso 87 points: 10/3

With 22 points covering the four drivers, one win would be good enough to turn the mini league upside down.
