Post Race Analysis: Monaco GP
The Monaco GP turned into a farce as Nico Rosberg drove within himself to conserve his tyres and win the race. However, there was one interesting lap to note on the time sheets.
With so many different race strategies, we have analysed lap times to get a better picture of the raw pace of each car. We have compared the best lap time for each driver when on the same tyre compound and broken down the race into ‘stints’ to compare cars on similar fuel loads.
Stint 1
Everyone has to follow the pace set by Mercedes. Running into traffic/dirty air, the times aren’t a true representation of each driver’s raw pace.
Stint 2
Everyone is following the pace set by Nico Rosberg; eleven drivers are within 0.7sec of each other in lap times.
Stint 3
Sebastian Vettel manoeuvres himself a clear lap and sets a blisteringly quick time; the fastest lap of the race by some margin.
