Chinese Grand Prix: Nico Rosberg

Won in China last year and would have finished third in Malaysia but for team orders.

It’s been three weeks since the last grand prix but the same old biases exist. Lewis Hamilton is 8/1 (Bet365) to win the Chinese GP whereas teammate Nico Rosberg is 14/1 (Betfred).

So far this season there is no evidence that Lewis Hamilton is the quicker of the two drivers and he would have finished behind Nico Rosberg in Malaysia but for team orders.

This weekend Rosberg returns to the scene of his first (and only) win in F1 and lightning could strike twice. The German driver has shown good pace this season; he was fastest in Q1 and Q2 in Australia and topped the timesheets during Q2 in Malaysia. Unfortunately, he hasn’t managed to deliver in Q3, but surely it is just a matter of time before he does.

Looking at the lap times in Malaysia, Mercedes struggled on the hard tyre but with just the medium and soft compounds available they should be more competitive this weekend .

That makes Nico Rosberg a good each-way bet at 14/1 (Betfred) with 1/5 odds for a top-3 finish.
