Monaco GP Tip: Sebastian Vettel Pole Position/Race Win

The last four winners have started on pole and Red Bull account for three of those victories.

Don’t be distracted by the razzamatazz of the Monaco GP, it’s one of the most processional races of the season and dare I say it, a little bit boring.

In each of the last four seasons the driver on pole has won the race and I doubt it’s going to change. The Mercedes has looked quick in qualifying of late but the Red Bull is still the fastest car on the grid, especially on circuits that require high downforce.

In the last three seasons Red Bull have been on pole, which narrows down our short-list to two. Mark Webber has an excellent record in Monaco but he’s not having the best of seasons and he’s simply not as quick as his teammate.

Not only is Sebastian Vettel a triple world champion, he is at his best when leading from the front. Since the start of the 2010 season, 16 of his 23 victories have come from pole position.

He is a master of the flying lap and if recent trends persist, pole position should translate into victory. Rather than back him at 7/2 for pole or 3/1 for the race win, the value is a combination of the two.

Back Sebastian Vettel to qualify in pole position and win the Monaco Grand Prix at 5/1 with Paddy Power.
