Post Race Analysis: USA GP

Sebastian Vettel made it eight wins in a row and is 2/5 to triumph in Brazil but the best performance came from Valtteri Bottas.

With so many different race strategies, we have analysed lap times to get a better picture of the raw pace of each car. We have compared the best lap time for each driver when on the same tyre compound and broken down the race into ‘stints’ to compare cars on similar fuel loads.

Romain Grosjean managed to stick with the Red Bulls during the first half of the race, running quick lap times but also conserving his tyres. All three drivers pitted on lap 27 or later, going much deeper into the race than their rivals.

Stint 2

Valtteri Bottas was third quickest in the second stint of the race a big surprise but his first points finish of the year was entirely merited.

Summary
It’s very difficult to back against Sebastian Vettel winning in Brazil at 2/5 (Skybet) with Mark Webber and Romain Grosjean likely to chase him home.

The performance of Valtteri Bottas was hugely encouraging; it was his first points finish of the season and they were fully deserved.
