Canadian GP Tips: Sebastian Vettel
Things didn’t go his way at Monaco but he still couldn’t resist showing off his raw pace.
At the Monaco GP we didn’t learn much, apart from the Mercedes is quick in qualifying and Nico Rosberg likes a leisurely Sunday drive.
With overtaking almost impossible, the pack were forced to drive at the same pace as Rosberg, even though they might have had faster cars.
The one exception was Sebastian Vettel. The triple world champion once again showed his arrogance by manoeuvring himself a gap towards the end of the race and setting a blistering fastest lap. It didn’t win him any extra points but his lap was over 1.5sec quicker than his rivals, proving how much quicker the Red Bull could have gone.
Frustratingly for his team, Sebastian Vettel has a habit of showing his hand when things don’t go his way but from a betting perspective it gives us an insight into the true pace of the Red Bull.
Mercedes won the Monaco GP because of the unique nature of the track, they didn’t have the fastest car. That belongs to Sebastian Vettel. Therefore I recommend opposing Rosberg and Hamilton this weekend and bank on Vettel returning to the top of the podium at 11/4 (Bet365).
