Villa’s Relegation Worries Deepen
Having been 100/1 a month ago, Aston Villa are just 6/1 (William Hill) to be relegated.
Just over a month ago it hardly seemed possible that Aston Villa could be relegated. A 90th minute winner against Fulham saw them drift to 100/1 in the betting and sit comfortably in mid-table. But a run that has seen Alex McLeish’s side accumulate just 3 points from a possible 21, has dragged them deep into a relegation battle.
A home defeat to Bolton exacerbated the problems and Aston Villa are just 6/1 (William Hill) to be playing Championship football next season. Villa are three places and three points above the relegation zone but only Wolves are on a worse run of form.
