United 7/1 To Retain Title

Manchester Utd are being written off for the league they have won five times since 2007.

Defending champions Manchester United have drifted to an almost unheard of best price of 7/1 (Paddy Power) for the Premier League after slumping to a humbling 2-1 home defeat to West Brom on Saturday.

The Red Devils already find themselves eight points behind early pace-setters Arsenal after six matches. The Gunners have shortened to 9/2 (Betfred) for the title after making it five wins on the bounce at Swansea.

If the bookmakers are right then this will be one of the most exciting league battles in decades with six teams thought to be genuinely in with a shout.

Manchester City remain marginal favourites at 12/5 (Boylesports) despite losing to Aston Villa at the weekend. Chelsea (10/3 BetVictor) and Tottenham (10/1 Ladbrokes) played out a 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane.

Liverpool are another side in the same bracket at 10/1 with Boylesports after defeating Sunderland 3-1 on Sunday.
