Bayer Leverkusen v Manchester Utd Tip

There were six goals when they met at Old Trafford and this should be another lively encounter.

It’s a big night in Group A where three teams start the night separated by three points but only two can progress to the knockout phase. Manchester United face a huge test at Bayer Leverkusen.

When the sides met at Old Trafford back in Gameweek 1 the English champions were pretty comfortable en route to a 4-2 victory. But the second half that night hinted at the strong attacking threat that the Germans have carried in all their games since.

At best odds of 5/2 (BetVictor), I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see over 3.5 goals in this return clash as well.

United’s goal threat is pretty well documented but it’s actually Leverkusen who have really dazzled statistically. Sami Hyypia’s boys have had 39 attempts on target in the group stages so far; that’s more than Barcelona or Real Madrid. They thumped Shakhtar 4-0 at the BayArena and are second in the Bundesliga, ahead of mighty Dortmund.

The Red Devils will surely need to find goals themselves to claim a result on the banks of the Rhine and it could be a classic.
