Tottenham v Liverpool Tips: Tottenham Win

The betting doesn’t reflect the disparity between the strength of the playing squads or relative league positions.

It seems like every week we go against Liverpool – it’s nothing personal but if the bookmakers keep sticking with their Liverpool bias, we’ll keep opposing them.

To put this into context, Swansea are 7/5 (BetVictor) to beat a West Brom team nine points above them in the league. Tottenham are slightly longer in the betting at 6/4 (BetVictor) to beat a Liverpool team four points below them in the league. How can that be justified?

Spurs produced one of their better performances to beat West Ham on Sunday. Gareth Bale and Jermain Defoe continued their good form but more encouraging was Clint Dempsey having his best game in a Tottenham shirt and Moussa Dembele returning from injury. The future looks a little brighter for Andre Villas-Boas.

As for Liverpool, it was more of the same at the Liberty Stadium. Brendan Rodgers is hugely reliant on Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard and if they have an off day, the whole team struggles.

In terms of league position and personnel, Tottenham are stronger and although matches are never won on paper, a home win is overpriced at 6/4 (BetVictor)
