Swansea v Aston Villa Tip
Nobody is playing worse than Villa right now and the problems look huge at both ends of the pitch.
Betting on Aston Villa to lose feels like shooting fish in a barrel at the moment. Swansea are nothing longer than 8/13 (PaddyPower) to inflict a fourth straight defeat but I think there’s more value in taking them to win to nil at best odds of 7/4 with Bluesquare.
The Villains have suffered an aggregate loss of 15-0 in their last three outings and with fixtures coming thick and fast there just isn’t any time to turn things round on the training ground, while the injury list remains lengthy. With only four shots on target in total against Chelsea, Spurs and Wigan, Lambert’s youngsters haven’t even looked like scoring over Christmas.
In contrast, The Swans are in rude health and even showed they could win without Michu at Fulham last time out. The talismanic top scorer could be fit for New Year’s Day but Danny Graham reminded Laudrup that he’s an able deputy by scoring at Craven Cottage. It’s hard to imagine the misery ending for Villa in Wales.
