Sunderland v Tottenham Tip
Spurs are looking explosive going forward and they've kept three clean sheets in a row.
The early TV game on Saturday ought to be a competitive one with Sunderland finding some form at last against a Tottenham side playing some of its best football of the season. The visitors are 23/20 (BetVictor) to win but I’m drawn to the inexplicably good 11/2 that Betfred are currently offering on a ‘Spurs/Jermain Defoe to score’ double.
With another firm going as low as 7/4 and most around 2 or 3/1, the value on this score/win double is pretty undeniable. Defoe has 16 goals already this season for club and country and he found the net at Villa Park on Boxing Day.
That made it 10 league goals for the England striker in 2012-13 and more than half of those have come away from White Hart Lane. Spurs as a whole are free-scoring on their travels having registered 20 goals in nine away outings. Only Manchester United can better that, and this potency should put the brakes on Sunderland’s current revival.
