Slovakia Ready For Russian Revenge
The misguided belief that Russia are better than Slovakia isn't based on any concrete evidence.
The final minutes of the opening games for these two sides could hardly have felt more different.
Slovakia lost to Wales after an 81st minute winner which owed plenty to fortune before Coleman’s boys also survived their post being struck late on. In contrast, Russia got themselves out of jail with a scarcely deserved equaliser against England.
In short, there was nothing in either match to suggest Slovakia aren’t heavily overpriced to win this one at best odds of 5/2 with Skybet.
They were better than Russia in qualifying and in truth they lost a match to Wales which could have gone either way. Jan Kozak’s team had more shots (13-11) and 58% of the possession but it wasn’t their day.
