Saturday Accumulator Tip

The Championship leaders plus two unfashionable teams on fine form could deliver for us at a big price.

We’ve got three teams on rich veins of form at a best combined price of 9/1 (BetVictor) for Saturday’s accumulator.

We kick off with Stoke City (17/20) who are nine matches unbeaten and getting better all the time. The 3-1 victory over Liverpool on Boxing Day, having trailed, was fully merited and evidence of the astounding progress being made under Tony Pulis.

The Potters have the best defensive record in the top flight and haven’t tasted defeat at home since February. Southampton head to the Britannia Stadium having lost six out of eight on the road, conceding 21 times in the process. Anything but a home win would be a major shock.

Next we head to the summit of the Championship where Cardiff (17/20) have opened up a five-point lead after overcoming Crystal Palace in the top of the table clash three days ago. The Bluebirds are imperious in Wales with 11 wins from 12 fixtures in front of their own fans. They entertain a Millwall side who suddenly hit the skids by losing 2-1 at home to lowly Barnsley last time out.

Finally, we take a chance on Peterborough (2/1) extending their electrifying purple patch at rock bottom Bristol City. The Posh haven’t just won three on the bounce, they have sent shock waves through the Championship. The only team to win at Cardiff in 2012-13, they followed that by putting five past Bolton and three past Wolves, the latter without reply, away from home, last time out.

The Robins have lost seven out of 11 encounters at Ashton Gate. But even worse than that, the only triumphs on their own patch came way back in August. Peterborough need only keep their momentum going to potentially complete a long-odds treble for us.
