QPR v Tottenham Tip

QPR: Building a fortress

A vital London derby affecting both ends of the table. The spoils could be shared.

On the surface this is a match between a team in the top four against a side in the bottom four. But any suggestion that this will therefore be a routine away victory for Spurs is hugely contradicted by the form guide.

There are plenty of stats to make Harry Redknapp squirm. His side have just one victory in their last eight top flight matches and they are winless on their travels since 27 December. They face a relegation-threatened side who are capable of huge results at Loftus Road, if no anywhere else. QPR have defeated Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal on their own soil and are seeking four wins on the bounce in front of their own fans.

The team news doesn’t make much better reading for the Lilywhites. Younes Kaboul and Michael Dawson remain sidelined, meaning there’s a distinct lack of pace at the heart of Tottenham’s defence. Veterans Ledley King and William Gallas had a torrid afternoon at Wembley last week when Chelsea put five past them. Djibril Cisse returns for the Hoops and could cause them more problems with his pace - if he can stay on the pitch long enough to do so.

But when it’s all said and done Redknapp still has an abundance of quality at his disposal. Bale and Van der Vaart just need to re-discover the form that did for Neil Warnock’s team back in October.

I think the draw looks a good price in this one at best odds of 11/4 with Boylesports. But I just can’t see this one ending 0-0 so I’ll go a step further and take the 19/5 BetVictor are offering on a score draw.
