QPR v Man Utd Tip

Rio is they key man in defence again

United grind out away wins better than anybody. Sunday could be a case of same again.

Reports of Manchester United’s demise may look a tad foolish if the champions head back to the top of the table tomorrow afternoon, if only for a few hours. They remain not only one of the best teams, but also one of the best teams to bet on in English football. They have won their last three Premier League away matches by a 1-0 scoreline and that looks a great value bet to happen again at a best price of 6/1 (Coral).

The season-ending injury to Nemanja Vidic is a serious blow, but we should remember that Rio Ferdinand is still capable of marshalling the defence in his absence. The England star was in the line-up for the slender wins and clean sheets against Swansea and Villa; there’s no substitute for class and experience.

The Red Devils face a QPR side who are competitive in this division, but a little short of firepower. They average just a goal a game so far this season and only Heider Helguson can be regarded as a regular contributor. Neil Warnock’s team gave a valiant account of themselves last week at Anfield before succumbing 1-0. I can see history repeating itself on Sunday.
