QPR Secure New Ownership
Fans of the newly promoted side are generally breathing a sigh of relief as Briatore and Ecclestone depart.
Lotus boss Tony Fernandez has completed a takeover of Premier League new boys QPR, as the unpopular figures of Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore stand aside. The Malaysian businessman has secured a 66% stake in the club and he will now work alongside the Mittal family, who have retained the remaining 33%.
It appears to be good news for manager Neil Warnock who has been eased to 2/1 by PaddyPower in the next manager to leave market. The former Sheffield Utd boss is likely to have increased funds to spend on new players before the transfer window shuts, after a summer of frustration up till now.
Bet365 are another firm to see this as good news for Hoops fans; they’ve shortened the odds on the west London side staying up from 8/11 to 8/13. Boylesports still offer the best price of 4/5 in that regard. Furthermore, the odds on QPR getting relegated have been extended to 6/5 by Bet365 - the new best price on the market.
