9th Jan 2015 | Premier League

The Saturday Acca

We start with the top flight's finest pair and also back the Championship leaders this week.

This week’s acca starts with the relative assurance which comes with supporting the Premier League’s undisputed top two. We’ve added 3 more teams to make it a tempting 19/1* shot with Boylesports who will give us our money back as a free bet (mobile only) if just one selection comes unstuck.

Man City (5/6) to win at Everton:

In other recent seasons you would think twice about backing any away side to triumph at Goodison Park, but Everton are really struggling just now after 5 winless matches (L4 D1). Meanwhile, champions City have serenely managed the absence of Sergio Aguero to make it 13 games unbeaten in all competitions (W11 D2).

Chelsea (1/5) to win at home to Newcastle:

I would never normally get involved with a side at such a short price but for an acca, a sure thing never hurts. And that’s what this surely is. Chelsea have played 9, won 9 at Stamford Bridge, scoring 22 and conceding only 3 in the process. The Toon Army are managerless and looked slightly forlorn in exiting the FA Cup last week.

Burnley (6/5) to win at home to QPR:

Chelsea have a 100% home record, QPR have a 0% away record. They have failed to pick up a single point on their travels and the 3-0 home reverse to Sheffield Utd couldn’t have improved confidence. Burnley are increasingly competitive every week and beat Southampton and Hull at Turf Moor not so long ago.

Bournemouth (Evens) to win at home to Norwich:

The Championship leaders have won four on the bounce and they’re just so full of goals, netting 21 in their last 6 outings across all competitions. The Canaries are another team to have recently parted ways with their manager but it’s hard to see former Hamilton boss Alex Neil exciting the dressing room overnight.

Bolton (21/20) to win at home to Leeds:

The Trotters are a team who have served us well in recent weeks simply by winning almost every time they run onto the park at the Macron Stadium. Bolton are unbeaten at home under Neil Lennon, winning 6 of 7 outings. Leeds are only one point above the drop zone after 1 away victory all season.
