Snodgrass Overdue Goals

Overpriced considering he is the second most regular shooter in the Norwich side averaging 2.0 shots per game.

Looking at the potential Norwich first goalscorers against Newcastle I wonder if the bookmakers are trying to misdirect the public.

In order of probability the list goes Gary Hooper, Ricky van Wolfswinkel, Johan Elmander, Luciano Becchio and No Goalscorer.

It’s not until you reach Robert Snodgrass, sixth in the list, that you start getting a true picture of how Norwich play.

Apart from perhaps Gary Hooper, the Canaries have struggled to find the net which means the burden has shifted to their midfielders.

Robert Snodgrass is one player happy to pick up the slack. He is currently averaging 2 shots per game, only Nathan Redmond (not a guaranteed starter) shoots more frequently.

The Scottish international has sprung into life in recent weeks registering four shots against Everton and five against Hull. Six of these nine efforts came from inside the box, so they are not just speculative efforts.

Throughout his career, Snodgrass averages 0.27 goals per 90min; with only one goal to his name this season he is behind the curve.

He can redress the balance by scoring first against Newcastle on Tuesday night at 11/1 (Bet365). Back him each-way and get 1/3 odds if he scores anytime during the match.
