Obdurate Burnley Upset Merseyside Again

Obdurate Burnley Upset Merseyside Again

Everton aren’t as good as people think. They are tenth in shots per game and fluked a point at the Etihad last week.

Burnley are by no means a good team (I rate them as currently the 18th best in the league) but they do have the capacity to frustrate. What they lack in skill they make up in endeavour especially at Turf Moor.

Their home record in the league this season is 2 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses but it easily could have been much better. Burnley conceded stoppage-time goals against Arsenal (defeat) and Hull (draw) whilst Swansea’s winner came in the 82nd minute.

Everton are riding high in the league and had their reputation bolstered by a draw at the Etihad but they might be suffering from confirmation bias. In terms of shots per game they only rank tenth and this is the type of match where they appear overrated.

Burnley/draw in the double chance market is a cracking bet at 5/4 (Bet365).
