Liverpool Back Down To Earth
Bookmakers have overacted to Liverpool’s win at the Etihad especially with a Europa League fixture to recover from.
Having tipped Liverpool to beat Man City last week at 19/4 it seems strange to oppose them the following week but betting is all about the price and this week the value is with Swansea.
Liverpool’s victory at the Etihad was impressive but that suddenly doesn’t make them the best team in the league and the 1/2 about a home win doesn’t appeal. They lost their last home game immediately after the Europa League (against Palace) and they might suffer a similar hangover.
As for Swansea, they’ve gone through a sticky spell but their underlying numbers aren’t that bad.
The Swans are ranked ninth in expected goal difference and are a mid-table team in terms of shots for (ranked 14th) and shots against (ranked 10th).
Garry Monk’s team have avoided defeat in half their away games this season and are good value at 9/5 to come away from Anfield with at least a point.
