Managerial merry-go-round

It's all change in the Championship with jobs currently up for grabs at Palace, Ipswich, Burnley and Blackburn.

Dougie Freedman has now been officially unveiled as the new Bolton boss but the Championship still has a further four managerial vacancies up for grabs.

Firstly, there’s Freedman’s old club Crystal Palace. The Eagles should be an attractive proposition for somebody, currently sat four points off the top of the league and on a nine-match unbeaten run. Steve Coppell (7/4 Coral) is the bookies’ favourite for what would be a fifth stint in the Selhurst Park hot-seat.

Mick McCarthy is 10/3 (StanJames) for the Palace job and the former Wolves boss seems to be on everybody’s wanted list. The Yorkshireman is also 2/1 (Ladbrokes) to take over at Ipswich Town, 14/1 (PaddyPower) for Blackburn and 33/1 (BetVictor) for the Burnley post.

However, the vacancy at Turf Moor looks set to be filled by Sean Dyche (4/5 Skybet). The former Watford manager guided the Hornets to 11th place last season, their highest finish since 2007-08, before being replaced by Gianfranco Zola.

The latest big mover in the betting to replace Paul Jewell at Portman Road is Alan Curbishley - now nothing longer than 6/4 with StanJames.

Billy McKinlay is 8/11 (PaddyPower) to replace Steve Kean at Ewood Park with Harry Redknapp now storming in to 8/1 (BetVictor) from 80/1 earlier today.
