Man Utd v Aston Villa Tip

With 10 goals in 12 outings, he could play the role of party-pooper. At least briefly.

Manchester United have a chance to secure a 20th league title on Monday night, and they probably will, but that doesn’t mean we can’t take a chance on an Aston Villa player. Christian Benteke is capable of at least temporarily dampening the party mood and rates as a good anytime goalscorer prospect at best odds of 10/3 with PaddyPower.

The champions-elect have had their fair share of defensive wobbles this season and have conceded as many at home as West Brom and Sunderland. Indeed, the teams who have come to Old Trafford and scored in 2012-13 include Southampton, Newcastle, Sunderland,  QPR, Stoke and Reading (the latter in the FA Cup). That’s most of the sides fighting relegation.

Villa most certainly fit into that category but in Benteke they boast a more prolific striker than any of the other teams down the bottom. The Belgian international has 15 league goals this season and has really exploded in recent months.

The 22-year-old has found the net 10 times in his last 12 appearances for his club. This is a massive game for the visitors, as well as the hosts, and Benteke may just add to his growing reputation at the Theatre of Dreams.
