The England midfielder added to his impressive tally against Everton on Sunday and Steven Fletcher will hope for something similar against those other Merseysiders, Liverpool.
The Scottish striker found the net at Anfield for Wolves last season on his way to a commendable 12 league goals. Then, after signing for Sunderland in the summer, he was a thorn in the Reds’ side again when he opened the scoring in September’s 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light.
The 25-year-old has already notched 8 league goals in a struggling side this campaign as he establishes himself as a reliable poacher at the highest level. Fletcher scored twice in December as the Black Cats’ form picked up with three wins from their last five outings.
At a best price of 10/3 (Bluesquare) in the anytime goalscorer market, he is a value bet to find the net for Martin O’Neill’s side who haven’t been shut out in any of their last seven matches.
