Knackered Spurs On The Ropes
Tottenham play their 7th game in 26 days and they are running on empty.
Spurs gave everything before crumbling against Chelsea in the League Cup final on Sunday and now the last thing they need is another match, particularly against a team who might just pass them into submission.
Swansea are back on sparkling form after victories over Manchester United and Burnley and it’s a trusted old adage that you don’t get so tired when the results are coming.
That’s half the problem for Tottenham who now haven’t won in five outings; the euphoric north London victory over Arsenal is now a month passed. Since then they have slipped out of two cup competitions and seen top four hopes recede.
Given that an away triumph would move the Welsh club to within one point of their hosts, odds of 9/2 on a Swansea win look generous anyway. But in the circumstances, they are a gift.
