Can't Say Faroe Than That

It's incredible to say it but arguably the Faroe Islands should be favourites rather than 9/1 underdogs in this clash.

Traditionally one of the worst sides in world football, the oddsmaker have been slow to accept that the Faroe Islands have become competitive in Group F of the Euro 2016 qualifiers.

After five rounds of matches the tiny archipelago sit above Greece and having won 1-0 away to the 2004 European champions, they are somehow still available at 9/1 (Bet365) to win their home match against the same opponents.

Cynics will suggest that the November shock scoreline was a fluke but the Faroes only lost 1-0 to group leaders Romania last time out and have only conceded two goals in their last three competitive fixtures.

Perhaps even more importantly, Greece have looked atrocious throughout the campaign. It seems hard to believe, but a team who played in last summer’s World Cup are winless and have mustered just one goal in five games.

Based on these numbers alone, the odds are all wrong here.
