FA Cup Semi Final Betting

Super Mario

With no Rooney or Tevez the stage is set for a new hero in the Manchester derby. The second semi is also up for grabs, ask a bookmaker and they couldn’t name the winner.

The barbs are already out as the Manchester derby moves to London for the weekend. Paul Scholes has fired the opening salvo by suggesting City are not his club’s main rivals.

“When they are fourth or fifth [in the league], I don’t think they can be classed as a main rival,” said Scholes.

“Our main rivals are obviously Arsenal and Chelsea. I think City are just a rival because of where they are [geographically] and Liverpool the same.”

The United midfielder is 16/1 to let his boots do the talking and open the scoring. Those same boots are just as likely to mis-time a tackle; Scholes is evens to be shown a card during the game.

Manchester City are still reeling from the news that Carlos Tevez is out for the next month with injury, the main factor as to why his team have been on the drift in the betting. Goal scoring responsibilities will fall on the misfiring Edin Dzeko or the mercurial Mario Balotelli. Paddypower make ‘Super’ Mario a 100/1 chance to score a hat-trick worthy of his nickname.

The second semi final sees two of the more underrated Premier League teams have their day in the sun. With both Stoke and Bolton looking comfortable in mid-table, this can rightly be called their ‘game of the season’. Bolton are slight favourites at 8/5 to win the match but in reality no one knows what is going to happen. At 12/1, it isn’t unfathomable that one of the teams wins on penalties.
