Of the teams still to qualify Portugal are the shortest, on reputation alone, especially with the like of Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani to call upon. Beware of taking these early prices, as the play-offs are likely to be much more even than the outright odds suggest. Estonia finished second in a group containing Serbia, and Montenegro took two points off England, both showing the ability to match more vaunted opponents.
Another anomaly is the price of Greece 80/1 and Croatia 66/1, both with Skybet. These teams were in the same group during qualifying, with Greece heading their opponents by two points and remaining unbeaten. Considering Croatia are still uncertain of their place at Euro 2012 it is surprising to see them shorter than Greece in the outright betting. The draw for the play-offs will take place on Thursday.
