Championship Accumulator

3 teams from the top half to beat 3 sides in the bottom nine at combined long odds.

We head to the Championship for a three-team accumulator today. Brighton, Palace and Leeds are a best price of 9/1 to all win with StanJames.

We start at St Andrews for what the bookies would regard as the toughest part of the treble (8/5). Based on history, victory for Brighton is unlikely as Birmingham are unbeaten in their last seven against the Seagulls.

But form is far more pertinent, and in that regard the Seasiders rule supreme. Gus Poyet’s boys have enjoyed a fine start to 2013 with three wins from three, including dumping Newcastle out of the FA Cup. The Blues have been dragged into an unlikely relegation fight after five winless matches in all competitions.

Next up it’s one of the stories of the day as Dougie Freedman returns to Selhurst Park for the first time. He left Palace (11/10) for Bolton in October but one thing that hasn’t suffered has been the Eagles’ home form. Unbeaten on home soil since the opening day (W8 D4), Ian Holloway will know what a big game this is for the fans. The Trotters remain down in 16th in the table with only two wins on their travels all season.

Finally we’re taking Leeds (5/6) to do the business against bottom side Bristol City in what should be a home banker. Neil Warnock’s team can’t afford to lose any more ground in the play-off race and Saturday really should see them claim three points. Leeds have won their last five Championship clashes at Elland Road while the Robins have lost all three matches in 2013, including a 4-0 home battering to Leicester last time out.
