Championship Accumulator

Leeds Utd are suddenly looking like a team going places under Neil Warnock and that seems like an ideal place to start for our 16/1 (BetVictor) Championship accumulator.

The Whites look full of goals having found the net nine times in their current four game unbeaten sequence. Led by the firepower of Luciano Becchio, they have seen off Forest, Everton and Bristol City and earned a credible point at Bolton.

Now back at Elland Road, I was surprised to see the bookies offer close to evens money (9/10 BetVictor) on Leeds claiming another three points against Barnsley. The Tykes have lost three of their four away games and an Oakwell defeat to Peterborough last time out must have felt disastrous.

Speaking of The Posh, they are having a great week after emphatically registering their first points of the season with back-to-back victories, both away, and both by 2-goal margins. After such a reversal of fortunes, odds of 11/5 on Peterborough beating Forest at London Road look generous. Sean O’Driscoll’s side are hardly setting the heather alight anyway at the moment after five winless fixtures in a row; they have failed to score in either of the last two, both at the City Ground.

Finally I’m taking a punt on lowly Millwall (21/11) because a home clash with Bolton is exactly the sort they relish down at The Den. A couple of away points in the past seven days should offer Kenny Jackett’s men encouragement and three points agains the Trotters would surely galvanise their season.

Millwall always turn over a few of the ‘big names’ on their own patch every season and Saturday should be an opportunity against Owen Coyle’s team who have already lost three of four on their travels before starting to stuffer at the Reebok as well.
