Championship Accumulator

They say anybody can beat anybody in this division and upsets seem even more likely at this stage of the campaign.

This is the time of the season when sides fighting for their lives inexplicably start finding a little extra while teams at the top sometimes get nervous. That can lead to upsets and before we know it we can be looking at a promising 25/1 (BetVictor) shot accumulator! Today we delve into the Championship and put our faith in Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley and Bolton

Wednesday (2/1) v Cardiff:

The Owls pulled off a great result by winning 1-0 at Leicester last weekend to give themselves a small amount of breathing space away from the relegation trap door. They have actually won their last three at home to Cardiff who habitually get stage-fright when the prospect of promotion looms. One win in five for the Bluebirds has seen an 11-point lead diminish to 4 in barely a month. And Dave Jones would love to put one over his former employers.

Barnsley (21/10) v Watford:

This fixture has a very similar feel to the one above after Barnsley notched a vital win over promotion-chasing Brighton in midweek to climb out of the relegation zone. Meanwhile, Watford stumbled in their last outing, beaten at home by Blackpool. Nobody enjoys a trip to Oakwell when the hosts are full of fight and the Tykes have won five of their last six there in all competitions.

Ipswich v Bolton (15/8):

Hard to believe but Bolton were also down near the bottom not so long ago but they are now eyeing the play-offs after an unbeaten run of eight matches including five wins on the spin. Ipswich are looking over their shoulders again after a worrying dip in form at the wrong time. The Tractor Boys just can’t find the net having scored only one goal in their last five outings.
