Championship Accumulator

3 home teams who are generously priced should show why they are all higher up the table than their opponents.

In the Championship we’re taking three home teams to all beat sides below them in the table at best odds of 8/1 with Coral.

Crystal Palace (evens) V Middlesbrough:

The Eagles remain unbeaten at Selhurst Park since the opening day of the season and they had a morale-boosting spell last week. First they came from a goal down to beat neighbours Charlton, then they retrieved a 2-0 deficit to claim a valuable point at Watford. Key players are returning to fitness for Palace while Boro have lost five of their last six and travel inconsistently at best.

Derby (19/20) v Wolves:

The Rams are a classic mid-table Championship outfit who pick up points consistently at home (W8 D5 L2) but travel poorly. That just means they’re a solid option at Pride Park, particularly against opponents who are struggling everywhere. Wolves are only outside of the relegation zone on goal difference and arrive off the back of nine winless matches (D3 L6) in all competitions.

Forest (11/8) v Bolton:

Neither of these teams are in any kind of form but I’m backing the hosts because of the men in the dugout. Billy Davies makes a celebrated return to the City Ground where he enjoyed two top-six finishes in 2010 and 2011. He was unceremoniously sacked by the then board but Forest were clearly a worse team both before and after his first tenure.

Meanwhile, Dougie Freedman is already feeling the heat from Bolton fans which is never a good sign even if the boss had his substitutions vindicated last week. The patrons still expect more and the Trotters’ away record (W2 D5 L8) is the biggest indication of the problems.
