Dinamo Dynamite

It's a mighty gamble, but there are a few reasons why the unthinkable could happen at a mega price.

It may look like utter madness, but backing Bayern Munich to lose at home is the value play when best odds of 45/1 are flying around.

Dinamo Zagreb would have to be a hopeless proposition indeed to justify such a price but given their 45-match unbeaten run across all competitions, that isn’t a fair assessment. Yes the Croatian league is weak, but it’s pure speculation to assume that the country’s top side can’t compete at all at this level.

Zoran Mamic’s boys beat Arsenal a fortnight ago and although their cause was aided by the dismissal of Olivier Giroud, the underdogs were already 1-0 up at that point.

Furthermore, Bayern even have some fairly recent previous for slipping up against a minnow in the Champions League group stage. They lost 3-1 to Belarus outfit BATE Borisov in October 2012.

This time round Pep Guardiola only has “14 or 15” fit players to choose from so any complacency from the German giants could prove costly.

It’s a massive long shot, but the right mathematical move is to go for a major upset on the night.
