One of the favourites to be named PFA Player of the Year is in the form of his life.
It’s remarkable how far confidence can take you and at this moment in time Aaron Ramsey must think he can walk on water. His fantastic long-range strike against Liverpool on Saturday put Arsenal five points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
That was the Welshman’s 10th goal for the Gunners in 2013-14 already and that tally includes a late clincher away to Marseilles in the first group match proper after three in two Champions League qualifers against Fenerbahce.
When you look at the 22-year-old’s remarkable stats this season it seems crazy that he can still be on offer at best odds of 6/1 (Betfred) to score anytime in Dortmund. But that is indeed the case.
Arsenal were unfortunate to lose at home to the Germans a fortnight ago and they always create opportunities for themselves. Right now Ramsey is the man most likely to take one when it comes along.
