The Tigers (9/5) have won four on the bounce to storm into the top two of the Championship for the first time since relegation from the top flight in 2010. They entertain a Leicester City side who are always much fancied by the bookies but rarely live up to the hype.

The Foxes may be formidable at home, but they are distinctly average on their travels (W3 D2 L6). They’ve lost their last two games without even scoring so a trip to the KC Stadium should prove to be one of their toughest assignments of the season.

Also in the top four of the Championship, Middlesbrough look a decent price (37/40) to overcome a Blackburn Rovers outfit who have really found the doldrums under Henning Berg. The new boss is already under pressure after winning only one of his first nine games in charge with a solitary point taken from the last five outings.

Boro have been ruthless against bottom-half opposition in 2012-13 having already beaten nine such teams. Tony Mowbray’s boys are now right in the automatic promotion race and it’s hard to see how they won’t improve on an already impressive Riverside record on Boxing day (W8 D1 L2).

Finally, I’m returning to the division that Hull and Boro hope to be playing in this time next year. QPR (7/5) may still be five points from safety in the Premier League, but Harry Redknapp is poised to work his magic as we approach New Year. The Hoops beat Fulham last time out at Loftus Road and should have defeated Villa before that.

WBA are the visitors this time and they simply aren’t the same beast away from the Hawthorns. They haven’t won any of their last 11 trips to London and this feels like a fixture where QPR can really start to build some home momentum up.
