Belgium v Italy: Margin Of Victory Tip

Belgium may not be the real deal yet but the Italians can build around their defence.

Belgium arrive at the European Championships as the number two ranked side in the world and therefore Group E favourites but they have plenty to prove yet.

Marc Wilmots’ boys were not overly convincing in qualifying, failing to score both times against Wales while only beating Israel and Cyprus 1-0. Recent friendlies tell a similar story: a loss to Portugal, a draw with Finland and a late come-from-behind 3-2 win over Norway hardly represented warming up in style!

In truth Italy could tell a similar story having recorded a series of narrow victories in qualifying. But the difference is that the Azzurri are under no illusions about their attacking limitations and strangely arrive as relative underdogs with little to lose.

The reason this could work is that Antonio Conte’s defence, built around Juventus, remains formidable. A side that can keep clean sheets always has a chance in tournament football.

If Italy are to win this clash of the titans then 1-0 looks most likely. Skybet offer a best price 8/1 but we advise taking the 13/2 with Bet365 with a refund coming if the match ends 0-0 instead.
