Aston Villa v Man Utd

If Vidic plays United are normally defensively tough

The champions have been dominating this fixture almost as long as Sir Alex has been at the helm. That run is set to continue.

It was surprising to see Man Utd stutter at home to Newcastle last weekend. That 1-1 draw was followed by an even more unexpected 2-1 humbling against Crystal Palace in the Carling Cup - again at Old Trafford. Sir Alex is not the sort of man to let a week like that get any worse and I expect Aston Villa to be on the receiving end of some retribution on Saturday evening. At 3/4 (PaddyPower) the away win only has moderate appeal, but United as the only team to score at 7/4 (Bet365) looks spot on.

Alex McLeish’s side have rarely even troubled the goalkeeper in their past two outings, let alone score. The 2-0 defeat at Tottenham was desperately poor for Villa, and the stalemate at Swansea City only saw a marginal improvement at the business end of the pitch. The champions have conceded just once in their last four Premier League games and they are at their most dangerous when having a point to prove.
