Arsenal v Tottenham Tip
One of the most dramatic fixtures in the footballing calender hardly ever disappoints the neutral.
I don’t know what it is about the north London derby - it nearly always produces goal-fests. Perhaps it’s the Arsene Wenger factor as he remains the constant in a fixture which has seen so many Spurs managers come and go down the years.
Regardless, there is no reason to think Sunday will be any different and I therefore have no hesitation in backing over 3.5 goals in the match at best odds of 19/10 (BetVictor).
These are the scorelines from the last five Premier League north London derbies contested at the Emirates, starting with the most recent:
Arsenal 5 Spurs 2
Arsenal 5 Spurs 2
Arsenal 2 Spurs 3
Arsenal 3 Spurs 0
Arsenal 4 Spurs 4
With 30 goals from five matches at an average of six per game, it’s pretty hard to see the prospect of four goals or more as nearly a 2/1 shot.
