Arsenal v Tottenham Tip

Returns to Arsenal in the enemy's shirt

A case of the obvious bet staring you in the face.

Sometimes football can be over-analysed when really the logic is very simple. Tottenham are clearly a better team that their north-London rivals at the moment, so at 2/1 (StanJames) to beat Arsenal on Sunday, they are great value.

Harry Redknapp’s boys are 10 points ahead with outside title aspirations still on their mind.  They are also favourites for the FA Cup. For Arsene Wenger, ambitions have had to be significantly downgraded after exits from all the cup competitions - barring a Champions League miracle.  Merely finishing top four in the Premier League would suddenly be an accomplishment.

Form points to the visitors as well. Tottenham’s only defeat in 15 matches across all competitions came in injury time at the Etihad Stadium. In contrast, the Gunners followed 4-0 humiliation at AC Milan with a 2-0 loss at Sunderland in their last two outings.

The derby itself has also seen a shift in power. The Lilywhites are unbeaten in the last four league meetings, including a famous 3-2 triumph at the Emirates last season, having trailed 2-0. The hosts also won 2-1 at the Lane in October. All sound reason points to the run continuing this weekend.
