Togo international Emmanuel Adebayor has finally ended his protracted transfer saga by joining Tottenham on a permanent deal from Manchester City. It is understood that the champions will continue to make up the difference between the player’s new £80,000 per week deal and the £175,000 he was ‘earning’ at the Etihad.

The 28-year-old may be an interesting long shot option to top score in the Premier League this season after bagging 17 goals at White Hart Lane last campaign. Adebayor is still a best price of 40/1 with Betfred in that market, although several firms have made significant cuts since the news broke.
