England v India: 4th Test

Tendulkar still needs the big score

England are 5/4 to win the final test and complete the 4-0 whitewash.

Having stormed into an unassailable 3-0 lead, England are now short odds favourites to finish off the drubbing in style. It’s hard to believe that the 4-0 whitewash was a 40/1 shot less than a month ago; now it’s a best price 5/4 prospect with Skybet. The former world number ones India are now as long as 6/1 with Bluesquare to salvage some pride with a win at the Oval.

There are still a few personal battles to settle at least. The tourists would still love to see Sachin Tendulkar record his 100th century at odds of 5/2 with Bluesquare. The top English run scorer of the series is expected to be Kevin Pieterson (4/5 totesport) who has amassed 358 runs at an average of 89.50. However, coming up fast on his heels is Alastair Cook with 314 runs at an average of 62.80.

The opener was as long as 33/1 to come out on top until his mammoth 294 at Edgbaston. He is now a best price 7/4 with StanJames and has the possible advantage of going in first against an Indian attack who probably just want to go home.
