England 11/10 to win 3rd Test

England have been in control.

The weather has been a more troublesome foe than Sri Lanka for most of the series.

Andrew Strauss’s side need to find seven wickets on the final day of the third and final Test if they are to claim the 2-0 series victory that their overall dominance probably merits. Every match has been riddled by rain delays and that is why the Rose Bowl encounter is still 8/11 to end as a draw with Coral.

Ian Bell (110 not out) and Eoin Morgan (71) enabled England to declare on 377-8 with a first innings lead of 193. Sri Lanka battled gamely to the close of play to reach 112-3, still trailing by 81 in total. England may well need to bat again now even if they can break through the tourists’ middle order. With time constraints now a potential problem, England are 11/10 to win the match with Coral.
